Quilt Show Categories Definitions

Single - Made and quilted by one person.  One person did both the quilt construction and quilting stitches.

Duet - Made and quilted by two people.  One person constructed the quilt and the second person quilted it.  An example would be when you hire a longarm or hand quilter to finish your quilt top.

Hand Quilted - All quilting stitches were made by hand without use of a machine.

Machine Quilted - All quilting stitches were made by use of a machine.

Pieced - Piecing predominates over other techniques in amount or effect. (more than 50% pieced)

Applique -Applique predominates over other techniques in amount or effect. (more than 50%applicated)

Mixed Technique - A quilt where a fairly even amount of both piecing and applique is used to develope the design of the top.
